Evidence shows that read-aloud sessions are an effective practice for encouraging engagement with texts, supporting the retention of important information, facilitating language learning, and increasing motivation to develop new attitudes and acquire the knowledge required for successful application of the information contained in a material. Read-aloud sessions were conducted in all our host states (Kano, Jigawa, Ogun, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, and Kaduna State) and these were led by teachers who had been trained as instruction managers in the teachers’ training and workshop. During the sessions, students took turns to read through the material, and the facilitators demonstrated how each of the digital learning tool contained in the manual are used.
